Using the PICAXE CLOUDCode for the KodeKLIX® can only be downloaded to the SnapCPU™ using BLOCKLY for PICAXE installed on local computers; this is because the code needs to be transferred by the USB download cable. The KodeKLIX® enhanced version of BLOCKLY for PICAXE includes additional features and blocks optimised for the KodeKLIX® system.
Students without BLOCKLY installed on their computers, or wanting some coding additional practice time can use the PICAXE CLOUD server for on-line coding. This coding cannot be directly downloaded to the SnapCPU™, but can be tested using the built-in microchip simulator provided. |

Using the PICAXE CLOUD |
The PICAXE CLOUD server is hosted by the folk* who make the PICAXE microchip used inside the KodeKLIX® SnapCPU.
The PICAXE CLOUD server is found here, but you need to register before you can access it. Registration is free - however, it is recommended that a Teacher or Parent complete the registration process for younger students. |
The desktop you will see in on the PICAXE CLOUD looks a little different to the one you may be used to on your local laptop.
You will be able to export their coding creations to their local computer for use with KodeKLIX® or sharing. You will only be able import code which does not contain any unique KodeKLIX® code blocks. |
The code block selection panel will not have any of the KodeKLIX® system enhancements - however many of the on-line KodeKLIX® projects can still be coded.
Note: downloading to the SnapCPU is not possible; instead an AXE type file will be downloaded to your local storage. The AXE file type can be understood by the microchip and cannot be read by humans. Special tools are available for downloading it to the SnapCPU or any other PICAXE powered device.
